Teachers are noticing some changes in the children’s attitude to school and learning. Many of the children seem calmer and more settled.
“As a school, we are committed to the development of the ‘whole child’, believing that children are in a better position to learn if they are happy and secure. We are aware that, because of the pressures of home life, not all parents are secure in their ability to help their children manage their emotions and their behaviour. We decided to look at how best to support parents with this and, as a result, asked Elizabeth to run her course ‘Discover the Secrets of Having Well-Behaved, Happy Children’ at our school. The feedback has been hugely encouraging with all those parents who took part being very enthusiastic about the empowering nature of the course and the help it gave them in dealing with the day-to-day stresses of bringing up children. Teachers, too, are noticing some changes in the children’s attitude to school and learning. Many of the children seem calmer and more settled and their parents, too, appear happier as a result of the course. Elizabeth’s straight-forward, practical and non-judgemental approach has worked really well – so much so that several new parents have already signed up for a repeat course in the next academic year.”

David Bird, Head teacher, Shelley Primary School, Broadbridge Heath.

The course was amazing

It has literally changed the way we work with children in our nursery
“The Taming Tantrums course from Elizabeth was so useful it has literally changed the way we work with children in our nursery. Her 6 step plan is now adopted every day because it is so effective. We have seen a significant improvement in the behaviour of our children and the lessons are really simple to teach on to staff. Elizabeth is a great teacher and always has creative solutions to help you overcome everyday issues when dealing with children’s behaviour. Thank you Elizabeth!”

What Parents have to say about Elizabeth’s Course

10 times out of 10 everything seemed to work.
“Now I have completed this course I am smiling again and recognising all the fantastic things my children do on a daily basis. I no longer feel like a slave to them and they have so much more respect for me than they did before. My children now cook, clean, make their own packed lunch and keep their rooms tidy.  Elizabeth has techniques for everything. And 10 times out of 10 everything seemed to work.”
(Jo Harwood)

This works!!! If I could put Elizabeth in my pocket and take her home I would.
“At first I was very unsure that it would work. I’ve tried so many different things that haven’t worked. But this works!!! If I could put Elizabeth in my pocket and take her home I would.”

(Kerri Nyame)

The results have been astonishing.
“Since the course I have a range of strategies that help to create order and calm in the house and allow us all to get the everyday tasks completed without it being a constant battle. And the results have been astonishing. They have allowed me to feel in control all the time (even when things are going horribly wrong!) and to have ways of dealing with all situations which help us to get through them, but (as an added bonus) help my children to develop as mature, capable people as well. That for me has been the biggest hidden treasure from this course.”
(Sarah Tyrell)

Elizabeth doesn’t judge you.
“Having a routine is ‘THE SOLUTION’ because children need rules and limits. Elizabeth is really enthusiastic. She gives a lot of motivation and good advice (because she has experience) She doesn’t’ judge you and tries to find solutions for a happier and better life with your children.”
(Delphine Hadad)

This course has been thoroughly enjoyable.
“Before the course I think my expectations were too high as I thought that if they weren’t behaving as I expected to then that meant that I wasn’t’ doing a good enough job as a parent. I realise now that implementing some of the tips that Elizabeth has shown me has helped our family unit improve or the better. It has highlighted where I was going wrong. This course has been thoroughly enjoyable.”
(Fay Taylor)

This course  has given me my life back.
“This course  has given me my life back – I was losing it on a regular basis before and now I can keep myself in check and the children respond for better.
I can also now expect more of my children – and they live up to it. This is an invaluable resource.”
(Karen MacDonald)

Every parent needs this course.
“It has helped to improve Leon doing things for himself and around the house. I feel the course is very informative. Learning to enjoy your chid/children and being a parent can be easier with boundaries, structure, understanding and time! I recommend any parent to go on the course. If you only come out having learnt one thing, that one thing will help and build the foundation to a happier home. Dads, you need to sign up! Every parent needs this course.”
(Lorraine Cook)

This course has given me some great tools.

(Jackie Nathalie)

Well worth every penny.
“The course has made me be much more positive when disciplining the children. I am much more aware of praising them for good behaviour and as a result, there is much more good behaviour than bad.  I would definitely recommend this course to all parents. There are so many useful tips and techniques to learn – and we had fun learning them! It has been a really positive experience and well worth finding the time to do it. Well worth every penny.”
(Claire Northgate)

The skills really work.
“I found the course very useful and the skills really work. It’s not always easy to remember them or put them into practice but they really make a difference when you do.
Elizabeth is a very enthusiastic teacher who instils confidence in your parenting. She is very understanding and non-judgemental, even when your current parenting skills are not good!!!”
(Paula Lintott)

‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’ but we’re going to have fun building it.
“I have a clearer image of what I want for my family. Clearer rules and more realistic expectations. I have a greater understanding of how children ‘work.’  I feel more positive about my abilities as a mother.  Before coming to the course I had a real sense of despair as a parent. Elizabeth’s course has given me a clear mind and I feel I have the ability to provide a brighter future for my family because of this.  I’m looking forward to gradually applying all of what I have learnt.
‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’ but we’re going to have fun building it.”
(Lynsey Flynn)

Not made to feel as if I’m silly.
“I’m much calmer. Look at the bigger picture. Re-evaluated home life. Generally happier home life – less arguments with children. Very informative, given a different perspective on family life / issues / values.  Not made to feel as if I’m silly and views / opinions listened to. Other people facing the same problems so I’m not alone!”
(Wendy Thomas)

I have been given new ideas and tactics on how to be a better parent.
“This course has made me stop and review how I am parenting my children. I have been given new ideas and tactics on how to be a better parent and to stay calm in different situations.
Elizabeth is a brilliant person to set over how to tackle being a parent and how to introduce new ideas and ways to deal with being a mum and parent. Every parent should have the opportunity to attend a course like this in all stages of parenting life.”
(Gail Colombo)

It’s easier to get the results we want with the techniques we have learnt.
“We have set clear rules for the family.  I tend to stay calmer. Behaviour has become better. The course made me stop and think about the things we were doing wrong as parents. We have learned new skills and ways to get better behaviour from our children without shouting and threatening.  Our son is happier now and it’s easier to get the results we want with the techniques we have learnt.”
(Sarah Kelly)

Elizabeth is a happy, confident leader who is very good at teaching the appropriate techniques.
“Before the course I was very stressed. I felt like I was constantly just ‘firefighting’ with my youngest who can be very difficult. I now have more confidence and knowledge of some techniques. Some are helping more than others, but things are definitely improving.
Elizabeth is a happy, confident leader who is very good at teaching the appropriate techniques.”
(Melissa Savage)

Elizabeth can answer every ‘yeah, but what if’ question.
“I think my children have been happier and more settled. I think the biggest changes are to come as I learn to use the skills more easily. The children are learning about consequences and there is more consistency between my husband and I. Elizabeth is able to help in all areas of family life. She can answer every ‘yeah, but what if’ question giving you skills for all reactions and behaviours.
A great help to our boys and our relationship with them.”
(Helen Daniel)

This was the best thing I have done.
“We used to argue with each other and there was quite a bit of disrespect on both sides. Now I’m much calmer and more able to deal with most situations. Ben knows what is expected of him and on the whole does as he’s asked when he’s asked. I’ much more consistent in my disciplining and daily rules in the home.
This was the best thing I have done and it has bought my son and I much closer. We don’t argue anymore, we discuss things and work out solutions. I would recommend it to all parents!!
I really feel that this is something all parents should do and I feel it should be opened to the wider community!!”
(Christy Sansom)

Amazing results when using NEW SKILLS!

Life changing techniques which help to create a happy family.
“Looking at the different ways you can help children I found interesting and the effort you put in now will pay off later in life.  Looking at yourself and how you do things can make a difference how your children react. (Kathy Wiffen)

I am now calmer and understand why my children do what they do.
“The course has made a big difference. I am now calmer and understand why my children do what they do. My children are happier and more helpful.

Thank you, it was very helpful.”
(Nikki Barber)

It has changed my approach to parenting.

Elizabeth is full of common sense and delivers hands-on practical advice.
“The course has given me tactics to implement, to both combat parenting difficulties, and nip them in the bud before they begin.
Ideas like ‘Chat throughs’ and ‘Only Ask Once’ have made our lives calmer and less stressed.
Elizabeth is full of common sense and delivers hands-on practical advice.”
(Liz Homer)

Course gave excellent basis for understanding child behaviour and adult responses and how to improve both.
More understanding of child behaviour and reasons for that behaviour. Helps to deal with my responses to that behaviour
Chat through useful for new everts / tasks etc.
Morning and evening routines more fixed and independent.
Course gave excellent basis for understanding child behaviour and adult responses and how to improve both.
Elizabeth facilitates inclusive open discussion of all aspects and makes parents feel able to discuss issues and suggest solutions.”
(Terry Collins)

I would recommend this course to my friends.
Benjamin is easier to manage. A lot of the suggestions worked. He was very uncooperative with me before but I have found he responds well to ELIZABETH’S ADVICE.
I would recommend this course to my friends if I was a mum. I am Benjamin’s Granny. He lives with us and we are Special Guardians. We have learnt a lot from this course.”
(Carol Mordaunt)

Has provided many new tools and techniques.
Endorsed what I already know. Has provided many new tools and techniques. Descriptive Praise, Reflective Listening, etc. etc. We are more in control. Elizabeth presents well / involves all / Listens / Provides solutions / Cares. The children will become better children / adults as a direct result.”
(Eddie Mordaunt)

Since the course things are 100% better.
Life at home was hard. I really didn’t feel like a good mum. My children, especially my son was very negative and lacking in confidence. The house was noisy. We were shouting an arguing a lot.
Since the course things are 100% better. We work together to get the jobs done. I put less pressure on my kids. We have fun. They play and we have more fun times. A great course!
This has been an amazing journey. I have only implemented a few of the techniques taught but feel that the other techniques are being implemented in a more natural way.
You go away from the course with your very concise and simple notes & handouts which will help to keep as a reminder when needed.  Thank you. We are a much happier family!”
(Caroline Ball)

I think the course is something every parent should do.
“I was not really enjoying being a parent at times. I don’t think I was taking the time to understand why my children were misbehaving. I now feel more in control – I have tools to cope now.
I think the course is something every parent should do.  Elizabeth is a great teacher who manages to get across the importance of everything she teaches on the course.
We have all learnt a lot and had fun at the same time. I have changed a lot and I didn’t think it was possible.
Thank you Elizabeth.”
(Cath Lopez)

This is a not a course for bad parents with badly behaved children. It is a course for all parents who want to help their kids be the happiest / best they can be
Our house is much calmer at the flash points – morning routine, bedtime, meal times. This is because we have put clear rules in place, set up for success with routines, and have developed good habits using descriptive praise and rewards.
Ben’s much more receptive to good feedback and no longer describes himself as ‘naughty’ very often. We have stuck to 10 good things at night religiously, and asked him to tell us what good things he has done too.
When we have a behaviour we want to deal with we use the tools we have learnt to come up with a strategy.
This is a not a course for bad parents with badly behaved children. It is a course for all parents who want to help their kids be the happiest / best they can be and to help you enjoy being a parent and spending time as a family.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to do this course. It has been brilliant.”
(Claire Wright)

My children have started to do some things I ask first time.
My children have started to do some things I ask first time. I have shouted less and am a bit more relaxed.
Elizabeth is a very relaxed person and just being there this tends to rub off on you a little.
I have found this course a great help in getting places on time now.
She has given the information I need to have the relaxed house that I am looking for with happy, confident children.
Thank you.”
(Kay Deacon)

Elizabeth has been such a great source of support and guidance.
“Throughout the course I have found every aspect so helpful and informative. Before the course there were times when I felt helpless and didn’t have a clear idea of the best course of action.
Now I have all the tools to better our family life, both as a family unit, and to ensure the dynamics of siblings (my children) are more cohesive and positive.
Elizabeth has been such a great source of support and guidance, and has shown that many parents have similar issues and struggles.
Elizabeth has given me an invaluable manual that I will regularly refer to, to help me get the best out of family life.
Thank you for being such a positive and great influence to our family.  It has been invaluable.”

I am amazed and so happy.
“It has helped me understand them. I can now stay calmer and think before I stress.  It has also helped us realise that it is not just us. It’s about sticking together and staying strong.
I am amazed and so happy. I can understand my children better and work as a family. I will really miss Elizabeth. Thank you so much.”
(Amanda Burton-Jackson)

Elizabeth has made me realise I am a good parent.
The course has allowed me to become a calmer parent. I am more able to talk to the children about expectations and teamwork and exploring emotions. Before the course I was controlling and over-protective with the children and very doubtful of my abilities. I have become more confident and so have the kids!
When I started the course I really thought I was a bad parent who had no idea on how to get my children to become amazing adults in the future. Elizabeth has made me realise I am a good parent, my children are amazing and I am now armed with some positive ways to help my whole family become a strong and loving unit.
Thank you for your help.  We have a calmer and happier house that can only be better for us all now and in the future.”
(Clare Gibby)

You don’t need to necessarily have issues to resolve. Just a great environment to share experiences and best practices. It has been a good laugh.
Family life was pretty good, happy family that gets on well, no major arguing or friction.  My aim was to get more control in getting the children to become more independent, to help more and do as they are asked first time.  Feel more in control and now know how to manage to get them to do things when first asked, slowly moving towards them doing more and taking more responsibility.
I think every parent would benefit from this course; I don’t’ think you need to have a reason really. Just a great environment to reflect on whether family life is how you want it to be and to pick up on tips / best practices.
It has been a good laugh too, and such a positive sharing environment. Been great.
I think every family would benefit. You don’t need to necessarily have issues to resolve. Just a great environment to share experiences and best practices. Very positive experience that I think everyone would come away with gaining something.”
(Miranda Hobby)

As an ex-trainer I am in awe of her ability to manage a group with opinions and views as well as getting through the course content.
I’ve stopped shouting and started listening. Our home is a lot less ‘shoutie’ and a lot more fun. My priorities have changed. I now ask ‘does that really matter?’ and ‘what are the priorities?’ (Pick your battles) I now label Ben’s emotions. Before I would just silently recognise them! I sing the praises of the course and Elizabeth to my fellow parenting friends.
Elizabeth has a fab way of running training.  She deals with questions from the audience rather than just brushing them off / moving on. Elizabeth has the knowledge and skills and is able to impart them to her audience. Her ‘one liners’ are gems (we need a list please)
As an ex-trainer I am in awe of her ability to manage a group with opinions and views as well as getting through the course content. The course is fabulously structured and modular.”
(Martin Brooks)

This course is not for bad parents. It is for good parents who want to do a really good job bringing up their children.
“The children are more enjoyable. They listen more, took on the ‘hand on my arm’ rule and works. I try to be more calmer, talk more over. We talk about how we want the children to behave before we go out. They seem to listen more. Sometimes take it on board.
Elizabeth listens to all comments and responds to a high understanding.  She also encourages the group to join in and put their points and views in too.
This course is not for bad parents. It is for good parents who want to do a really good job bringing up their children.
A great opportunity for all. Thank you for running this course. I’m sure other parents would like to be part of it too.”
(Ruth Tyerman)

It has given me more confidence in everyday situations with my children.
“Made me and my children calmer. Made me look at their behaviour differently. Gave me other methods to deal with their behaviour.
Made me feel more confident. This course gives you new ways to help you understand your child’s behaviour and great calm ways to cope with everyday situations within your family. It gives you new ways to look at your reactions to how this effects your children. It has given me more confidence in everyday situations with my children.”
(M Collingwood)

Elizabeth is fantastic! She gives you sensible, practical advice that you just think ‘of course – why didn’t I think of that!’
“It’s made my children want to gain my positive comments about them. It’s made me understand them a bit more and why they behave as they do.  It’s made me set proper rules that the children can adhere to.  It’s made me realise that they are just normal kids & I don’t need to get so wound up by their actions.
Elizabeth is fantastic! She gives you sensible, practical advice that you just think ‘of course – why didn’t I think of that!’
She shows you another way to think about normal, tricky situations & how to deal with these everyday tricky situations.
She just makes you think more about what is going on & why, & how to deal with it.
She gives you a practical toolbox of techniques to help with your children!
Thank you! It’s a fantastic learning tool & coping mechanism for ANY parent of ANY type of child. Really useful.”
(Corinne Morris)

All the techniques and skills are invaluable at all stages of raising a happy, well-adjusted child.
“I felt very on my own and struggling. It felt like me against the children sometimes. I did feel inadequate as a parent and out of my depth on lots of issues. I am feeling much happier and more confident as a parent and more connected to my children now, instead of feeling overwhelmed
The course is very well laid out and covers any and every aspect of parenting you can think of. All the techniques and skills are invaluable at all stages of raising a happy, well-adjusted child. Elizabeth is very confidence-inspiring and helpful. The course has been a real insight into the minds of children and of us as parents.”
(Ros Mothe)

I now feel I have my little boy back
“Before the course I felt I was at the end of my tether. I couldn’t control my son’s outbursts and felt I was losing the ability to love him as I was always falling out with him and having bad episodes with him.
Now I have learned to teach him about his feelings and why he reacts the way he does. I have managed to work more alongside him and not battle against him. I feel we have become a lot closer. The outburst are fewer and reasoning and understanding each other has really helped us. I now feel I have my little boy back as I think a lot of what he needed was more of my positive attention and also love and affection.
It has been very helpful and a lot of it has been reaffirming common sense + stating the obvious, which I had lost the ability to think of because I was so stressed to begin with.”
(Joanne Darkins)

Now James does as I ask, first time, with no tantrums and doesn’t answer back anymore.
“James was not listening to me before or doing anything I was asking him to do and now James does as I ask, first time, with no tantrums and doesn’t answer back anymore and he is listening to me more and more and is still improving every day.
The course has been very good and is very helpful and I would recommend it to any parent having problems with their kids and it’s been a good way to make friends and meet people that are in similar situations as you.”
(Maddie Hodge)

A chance to learn, reflect on, laugh about (!) the most important job we do.
“The main thing for me has been having the time to reflect on our parenting; the assumptions, expectations, agendas we and our children have and how better we can approach these.
An invaluable use of time for any parent. A chance to learn, reflect on, laugh about (!) the most important job we do. Elizabeth ensured the ethos was relaxed and non-judgemental and we all came away with many life- skills and hopefully feeling better equipped to deal with the challenging role of being a parent.
Thank you! Again?”
(Tania Cresswell)

Elizabeth is engaging, kind, practical & knowledgeable about her subject.
Parenting could be painful at home. Very bright child who enjoys rebelling – now have a vastly improved relationship & lives go much more smoothly. Whilst we’re still working on him eating, little things like his staying in bed until 7am have made a noticeable difference to us all (we’re less tired for a start) He’s much more confident & so are we.
Elizabeth is engaging, kind, practical & knowledgeable about her subject & actively promotes us parents to understand and act effectively as good parents. She has given us a toolbox of valuable life skills from which we will benefit and we will enjoy passing on to our son; I have thoroughly enjoyed this course & would recommend it to any parent. I thought it was so good I sent my husband on the day school with Elizabeth.”
(Andrea Quigley)

Do not hesitate to do this course!
“Before I commenced this course I was feeling overwhelmed as a parent. The responsibility to bring up our children so that they will get ahead in life was getting on top of me. I have now been able to pause and think ‘How are they actually feeling?’ & realise how I could relate to those feelings. My children are being more affectionate towards me, and we are understanding each other and enjoying happy moments a lot more often.
Do not hesitate to do this course! Children & parents deserve to feel understood & loved, & Elizabeth has definitely made this possible!
Thank you, thank you & thank you again for providing such a helpful course. It has been a huge privilege to take part in it.”
(Zara Bastable)

The course has been fantastic in exploring how our children work.
“Our house is calmer now. I feel better prepared to deal with problems. I see my children in a more positive light. The course has been fantastic in exploring how our children work. The topics are all relevant. It makes you look at parenting differently and appreciate your children more. You don’t feel so alone. It’s not rocket science once it is explained. It has helped me to see how my children might think or be feeling.”
(Lisa Clark)

Elizabeth is fantastic at what she teaches parents. I was anxious at first but have really enjoyed it.
“Before I started I had a lot of communication problems with the kids & the course has helped me understand that if I use eye contact and go down to their level they do listen.
I understand about reflective listening and a lot more on descriptive praise.
So many tips and life skills for a mum that I have learned.
Elizabeth is fantastic at what she teaches parents. She takes the proper time to explain each section in detail and stops to listen to each of the problems and gives us advice and tips on the best way to sort it out. I was anxious at first but have really enjoyed it.”
(Georgia Sullivan)

Elizabeth brings the course to ‘life’ with her enthusiasm and passion.
“The course has been brilliant. Very interesting and informative. It made me look at things from a different perspective. I am listening and understanding the child’s needs / viewpoint more, whereas before it was based more on telling him what to do / what not to do.
Elizabeth brings the course to ‘life’ with her enthusiasm and passion.
She is very thorough and knowledgeable about the subject and delivers it well.
Through various techniques: screen / white board / role play / acting she has made the course enjoyable.
Well done Elizabeth and thank you!! It has taught valuable life skills!!”
(Harshika Maru)

I cannot recommend this course highly enough.
“This course has empowered us to make change and make a difference to our children’s lives and make it more positive for them and us. It’s been useful to know we are not the only ones and some of what we experience others do too. Our children have responded well and Elizabeth has been on hand to help with a few blips along the way. I am learning to appreciate them more and understand what’s beneath some of the more difficult situations we may face and grow together.
My children love their golden book, even my 4 year old adores our time together.
Elizabeth has a very clear and concise way of delivering the material on the course always relating back to her own experiences and encouraging us to talk about ours. Thus leaving you feeling like you are not the only one, and actually what we face as parents is very normal. We just can tackle things a little differently. I cannot recommend this course highly enough as I’m quite certain it will be the making of our family and turn around our bad habits and bring us closer together – what more could you want?”
